Oxidation and Combustion

Our air is composed up of Nitrogen (78%), Oxygen (21%) and Argon (1%).

The process of oxidation and Combustion utilize oxygen in the atmosphere to carry out their processes.  Without oxygen, neither oxidation (rush) or combustion (fire) could occur.

Take a look at the fruit rush (oxidation) that occurred in an apple, and potato in the picture below.
